INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS SHIPPING WITH FEDERAL EXPRESS “DANGEROUS GOODS IN EXCEPTED QUANTITIES”
When packing hazardous materials (“Dangerous Goods in Excepted Quantities”) you CANNOT use any FedEx packaging. Use a regular cardboard box that has been drop tested or A UN certified box.
Use an “Expanded Service International Air Waybill” not just an “International Air Waybill.” Fold the Expanded Waybill in half and use the large FedEx issued purple pouch. Be sure your box is large enough. The waybill needs to fit on one side of the box. Use a typewriter to fill out form, to be sure there is no misreading of the information.
Copy the text on the Federal Express webpage that states there is no surcharge for a “Dangerous Goods in Excepted Quantities” package. Highlight the line that says there is no surcharge. Include this in the pouch with the waybill so FedEx accounting dept. does not include a surcharge. (
MBPC has copies of this page)
Proforma Invoice – Make 3 copies, the first is for FedEx., the second is for the U.S and the third for the destination country. Place all 3 copies into the pouch with the waybill. Fill out this form electronically. Blank form is on Collection Folder.

CITES sticker – Tape it to the outside of the box. Put a copy inside the box.
MBPC can electronically e-mail you the sticker with the LACNHM’s number on it.
Specimen invoice form- put 3 copies in its own pouch and attach it to the outside of the box. Place a copy inside the box for recipient. Including this on the outside of the box is to hopefully deter any suspicions that there is something of value or something dangerous in your package. Form available on line

Infraorder Brachyura (level 1 header)
Superfamily Xanthoidea (level 2 header)
Family Panopeidae (level 3 header)
Genus //Panopeus// (level 4 header, in intalics)
//Panopeus bermudensis// (level 5 header, in italics)
Horizontal rule placed beneath the species name to see what it looks like.
This text is placed in italics. But why didn’t this work within the header? Is it not possible make a header that is also in italics?
This should be a caption to the figure, but still contained within the floating box.
Try floating an image in a box to the right, so we can have an image with an attached caption. This stuff follows the box definition.
Hey - something else did not work the way I thought it would. I placed a horizontal header BELOW the species name, and yet the only horizontal lines I see are below the first two headers. Hmmmm....must learn more.
