MBPC Library

This site is a repository for information about the collections managed or processed by the Marine Biodiversity Processing Center of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

As the MBPC curated different collections, we began asking questions about proper collection care techniques. We created a Wiki to serve as a centralized location that would showcase information regarding collection care. We hope it will become a place to share collection care concerns and knowledge that could lead to meaningful experimentation and scientific inquires.

The curation of over 20 collections inspired the creation of this Wiki. A NSF Collection Support Grant (Award #0138674) provided the resources to process these collections. Questions regarding proper collection care techniques arose during the course of documenting, curating and databasing the over 20,000 lots from these collections.

Please feel free to add to this list of topics. It will be helpful if you use namespaces1) to keep topic files separated.
